Knights and Ladies of the Roundtable at New World
Rep! |
 |
|
If you have a child (age 7 to 16) who has been
bitten by the acting bug and wants to have lots of
fun while learning about all aspects of a theater
production, New World Repertory Theater Summer
Day Camp is right for you! NWRT in Downers Grove
is holding theater day camp June 16-20 and June
23- 27 for ages 7-16. The camp theme is Knights
and Ladies of the Roundtable. We will explore
medieval times and what it was like to be a knight
or a royal princess! This is a full-immersion camp
experience where students participate in making
costumes, designing and painting the set and
rehearsing a play for performance on the stage at
the end of the week!
Acting skills are taught during the morning and
special workshops in costume, set, scriptwriting,
stage combat and improvisation are held in the
afternoon. Camp instructors are professional actors
and directors.
Full and half-day options are available. Go to
www.newworldrep.org or call 630-663-1489 to
register.

Director: Kevin Wiczer of Wheeling. Choreographer:
Kara Williams of Palatine. "Nunsense II: The Second
Coming" could easily be subtitled "the rest of the
story." The sequel to the international hit musical
NUNSENSE takes place approximately six weeks after
the first "benefit performance."
The same five nuns are back on stage at Mt. Saint
Helen's School for what is billed as a "Thank You
Program" for their supporters. Since their first
time out was such a success, they have decided that
they should stick to their successful variety show
formula. This time they are forced to work around
the set dressing of "The Mikado" which is being
presented the following week by the Hoboken Music
Society on the Mt. Saint Helen's stage.
This production is funded in part by grants from the
City of Elgin and the Illinois Arts Council and
produced with the cooperation of Tams- Witmark, Inc.
