Paramount Academy of Performing Arts Announces
Opening date of September 2009
After
careful consideration, The Paramount Theatre would like to announce that the
Paramount Academy of Performing Arts facility opening will be open September
of 2009 this opening date will ensure our success. Executive Director, Diana
Martinez feels it is important to “Open the Academy with all of the original
concept components in place, including a professional staff with a state of
the art facility, which can one day be a state-wide model for arts
education”.
The Paramount Academy of Performing Arts intends to begin an aggressive
capital campaign this season to achieve the opening goal of $200,000.00 for
build out, infrastructure, staffing, equipment and marketing of the school
and additional funds for an endowment. One major foundation has already
pledged its support to the school. The Academy is thrilled to accept support
from the Dunham Fund in the form of a $50,000.00 grant dedicated to talent
scholarships for students in need of financial support for arts education.
Paramount Development Director Katie Arko stated, “This scholarship
endowment fund will serve as a catalyst for future funding, and ensure the
longevity of the academy. Furthermore, and more importantly this grant
ensures the inclusion of all talented students to participate regardless of
their economic circumstances”.
The Paramount Academy of Performing Arts will be a performance based arts
education facility. Highlights of the school will be quarterly master’s
classes taught by artists who are touring through the Paramount Arts Centre,
an integrated musical theatre program, acting, on-camera, private voice, and
music classes, as well as group music and dance classes in a variety of
levels. Martinez expressed that “The coming year will allow for more
understanding and support and fundraising for this exciting capital project.
The staff is confident that the goals can be achieved within the year”. If
